2025 Garden Tour - Stratford

Our annual car pool tour took us to Stratford this year to tour 3 private gardens in the southwest end of the city.

Pam Maten's backyard had raised beds with organic produce including Russian kale. Beautiful perennials & annuals filled her garden along with goldenrod & swamp milkweed to attract pollinators.

Next door Darlene & Andre Attinger concentrate on a variety of perennials to provide colour & beauty all season long.  Container gardening works well in their backyard for flowers & vegetables. Fragrant four o'clocks, a trained Wisteria tree & garden ornaments were enjoyed by all.

A plant encyclopedia would be needed for our last garden as the list of plants is endless. Steve Eliasziw & Leslie Humphrys property is absolutely full of plants....and a 'garden lady' out front to greet us!  It's a true oasis of tropical plants that overwinter in their basement. Unique trees as well - a dawn redwood, tulip tree, silk tree, a bald cypress, chinese fringe tree and so many more.

Our evening ended with coffee, tea & dessert at the Arden Park hotel.    - Heather
