2018 Bus Tour - Oxford & Elgin Counties

On July 11, 2018 the Bus headed south, stopping first at the private garden of a retired farmer in Ingersoll. A few miles down the road, the Leaping Deer provided snacks and washrooms. We then continued on to the Oxford Honey Apiary near Burgessville, where we learned a great deal about bees, hives, and honey, and got the chance to try and buy fresh raw honey. After lunch in Woodstock we descended on the Winter Wheat Country Store in Sparta. Then we detoured to the Rush Creek Winery near Aylmer, where we learned to make and enjoy fruit wines. Last stop was The Steed and Co. Lavender Farm where we learned the tricks of growing and harvesting lavender and emptied out her small store. We ate our supper (included) at the famous Sparta Tea House!
