Category 1 – Calendula(s)!
  1. Nick – Detail, focus and colour, great contrast and composition
  2. Cobe – Natural sunlight – highlights, capture of the bee
  3. Dianne – Inclusion of greenery, well framed using rule of thirds
Category 2 – Podcast – Seed Pod(s)
  1. Laurel – Beautiful composition with contrasting blue sky – great texture in the wispy seeds
  2. Cobe – Visually appealing colour, fills the frame front and centre
  3. David – Great use of frame – contrast of colour and texture
Category 3 – Lady in Red – Red Flower(s)
  1. Laurel – Looks exactly like a ‘Lady in Red’, soft, feminine, light fragment on the bloom – beautiful
  2. Nick – great focus on the bloom with a beautiful depth of field (out of focus background)
  3. Dianne – Love the placement of the rock as an added focal point – great contrast of the bloom
Category 4 – Dazzling Dahlia(s)
  1. Cathy – The combination of texture between the bloom with brick/wood, placement in frame of blooms – gorgeous colour combo
  2. Nick – Full single bloom really focuses on flower
  3. Cobe – Great focus on bloom in foreground, rich contrasting colour
